California ban on 'gay to straight therapy'

How's it going nerds, Jake signing on here. Gay rights is one of the hot button issues going on in today's America. Me being a supporter of gay rights, I found this story particularly interesting. Apparently some therapists were trying to train gay individuals into being straight. I'm very proud of California governor Jerry Brown for banning this cruel malpractice. It's apparent to me that these therapists had a serious side agenda, whether it be a hate of gays, a love of teenage suicide (it's sadly more common among therapists than some may think), or perhaps even supported in Washington. Regardless, I believe some blame may fall on the parents of these tragic cases os teenage suicide brought on by the heinous practice of telling someone they are not supposed to be the way they are and they need to change to conform with what is accepted. To me, this is as ridiculous as telling someone who is black that they have to attend 'black to white therapy'. But maybe there's something I'm missing here, what do you guys think? Was Jerry Brown doing good by banning this practice, or is this just big brother butting in again? Leave your thoughts below, and for now, this is Jake at Nerds Anonymous signing off.
